Franklins Restaurant, Brewery & General Store

Mike and Debra Franklin bought the old Hyattsville Hardware building on Route 1 in 1992 and opened a general store and deli. In 2002 they swapped the deli for a 200 seat brewpub, which bills itself as Prince George's County's first microbrewery. Brewmaster Jeff Hancock brews on a 10 barrel system and keeps about 18 house beers on tap, and the brewery has won more than 180 competition awards. The building also holds a toy and gift shop, an ice cream counter and an outdoor tiki bar.
