A German-style pilsner named for Mecklenburg, the town's original name from its German settlers. It takes close to eight weeks from brew day to glass.

Where to get it

Only at the brewery in Shepherdstown, WV.

  • At the taproom

Poured only at the Bavarian Inn, in 16 oz drafts or a flight of four 5 oz pours. No growler fills and no store distribution. Ask the bar what is on that day, since the list rotates.

Stock changes fast. If this is wrong, say so in the forum and we will fix it.

Aroma

Light bread dough and spicy, floral hops.

Appearance

Pale gold and very clear with a white head.

Taste

Crisp and dry, a little honeyed malt, then a firm, clean hop bite.

Overall

A patient, well-made pils and the base for the house Diesel, mixed half and half with orange cola.
