Weathered Ground Brewery

Sam and Aryn Fonda met at Ole Miss, worked at a brewery in Charlotte, then came back to Aryn's home state and opened Weathered Ground in 2017 on a farm in Cool Ridge, with Aryn's parents Tony and Joanne Kelly as co-founders. The barn-style taproom sits a few miles off the Ghent exit of I-77 and has a big yard, a covered porch, brick oven pizza, trivia and live music most weekends. The brewery makes a wide range, from lagers and hazy IPAs to saisons, barrel-aged stouts and the Bearer of Fruit sour series. Brilliant Stream named it West Virginia Brewery of the Year in 2018.
