Jon and Cindy Robeson opened Stumptown Ales on William Avenue in Davis in August 2015 and bought the building in 2019. Jon is the head brewer, and the taps lean hard toward hops, from a light blonde up to double IPAs like Holy Citra, the beer most people come in for. BrilliantStream named it West Virginia Brewery of the Year in January 2018. The taproom keeps a short food menu, and a second Stumptown taproom is open at 306 1/2 Merchant Street in Fairmont.
