Carlos Yanez and Michael Kelley opened Ruddy Duck near Solomons in 2009, and it calls itself Southern Maryland's first brewery. It is a full restaurant with house beer, known for scratch-made food like fresh wings, jumbo lump crab and its house chipas. The draft list leans on German lagers, IPAs and stouts that rotate through the year. A sister restaurant, Ruddy Duck Seafood & Alehouse, is at 16800 Piney Point Rd in Piney Point.
