Pherm was started by two friends who wanted a brewery built around art, live music and creative beer. Henry Jager is the founder and brewmaster. The big taproom on Route 3 in Gambrills hosts live music, comedy, painting nights, karaoke and a run club, and keeps about a dozen of its own beers on tap, mostly hazy IPAs, pilsners and fruited sours. There is no kitchen, but a food truck is usually parked outside and you can bring your own food. Families and dogs are welcome.
