Penn Brewery

Pittsburgh, PA · since 1986

Pittsburgh's oldest craft brewery, started by Tom Pastorius in 1986 and settled into the old Eberhardt and Ober brewery on Troy Hill. It brews German style lagers the traditional way and has lagering caves cut into the hillside. The restaurant and biergarten on the North Side are a Pittsburgh fixture. The company went through Chapter 11 in 2026 and was sold to the group behind The Priory, who plan to keep brewing there.
