Nepenthe Brewing Co.

Brian Arnold, Jill Antos and Brendan Kirlin started Nepenthe as a homebrew shop in Woodberry's Meadow Mill in 2013, then opened the Hampden brewpub on Falls Road in January 2019. It took over an old sports bar and meatpacking building and put in a 10-barrel brewhouse and a full kitchen. The taproom seats about 160 and has a garage door onto Falls Road and a back yard with lawn games. The tap list leans hard into IPAs and double IPAs, with Space Jellyfish as the house favorite, and the food has won local best-of polls.
