Forward Brewing

Cam and Claire Fitch Bowdren, who met working at the Eastport restaurant Vin 909, opened Forward in May 2020 in a Fourth Street building that has been in Cam's family for more than 30 years. It started as Annapolis's first nano brewery, with a small brewhouse behind a bright taproom with community tables, a front porch and a full kitchen. In 2026 the main brewing moved to a shared production plant with Oliver Brewing in Millersville, and the old brew space in Eastport is being turned into more seating and a small system for specialty batches. Boat Day, a Kolsch, is the flagship.
