Fife Street Brewing

Derek and Lisa Godwin opened Fife Street in 2022 on the ground floor of the historic Cox Morton Building, at the corner of Summers Street and the Brawley Walkway. Head brewer Gil Peterson, who came from Fairhope Brewing in Alabama, brews on a 7-barrel system, and the taproom serves grilled cheese and other light food with live music, trivia and comedy nights. The brewery gives 10 percent of its profits to local charities. A second, much larger brewery with a 20-barrel brewhouse on Teays Valley Road in Hurricane was due to open in mid October 2026 to brew and can the core beers, while downtown shifts toward lagers and small batches.
