Elk River Brewing Company

Brad and Jessica Carrillo, Colorado natives who have raised their family in Elkton, opened Elk River on Main Street in October 2018. The taproom sits at street level with the brewhouse a floor below, where two 3-barrel single-vessel kettles brew with malt from Proximity Malt in Delaware. Sixteen taps pour house beer plus one Downeast Cider line, and the bar and tables were milled from an elm that stood on the University of Delaware green. The taproom is 21 and over with no kitchen, though SmoQ-N-Meat BBQ sets up on Friday and Saturday nights, and a second taproom in North East is in the works.
