Chesepiooc Real Ale Brewery

Owner and brewer Jon Esposito opened Chesepiooc in Crofton in February 2018, and it calls itself Anne Arundel County's first brewery. The name is an old Algonquian word for the Chesapeake region. It is known for cask-conditioned real ale, poured from five beer engines among 29 taps, and it skips flagships in favor of small, ever-changing batches. The taproom runs trivia, darts, karaoke, open mic and comedy nights, has food trucks, and welcomes kids and dogs, with a dog-safe "beer" for the pups.
