Burley Oak Brewing Company

Bryan Brushmiller turned his homebrewing hobby into Burley Oak in 2009, in the middle of the recession, with the goal of creating jobs in his hometown of Berlin. The taproom on Old Ocean City Boulevard pours about 22 drafts, from pilsners and stouts to hazy IPAs and the J.R.E.A.M. fruited sours the brewery is famous for. There is a cocktail bar in the cellar, a beer garden, art on the walls and live music or events most weeks, and the brewery now makes canned cocktails and small batch vodka too. Burley Oak also owns Loakal Branch Brewing in Delmar, Delaware.
