Brewer's Alley
Frederick, MD · since 1996
Frederick's first brewpub, opened in 1996 on North Market Street in the old Frederick Opera House building. The site dates to 1765 and has also been the city's first city hall, a market house and the city jail. The name honors Frederick's original Brewer's Alley, a local fixture for about 150 years until a fire in 1901. It is a big multi level restaurant with a wood fired kitchen and a rooftop, and the bar pours the house beers next to beers from sister brewery Monocacy Brewing Co. up the street.
