BabyCat Brewery

BabyCat opened in November 2022 as the first brewery in Kensington, a town that had been dry until 2019. Founder Sam Mussomeli named it for Alice, a runt tuxedo cat who watched him homebrew, and most of the beers have cat names. The taproom sits beside the CSX tracks with a patio, an adults-only upper deck and a stage, and the Cattie Shak food truck serves pizza, burgers and wings. A second taproom with its own kitchen opened at 4850 Rugby Ave in Bethesda in October 2025.
