A light bodied black ale that is clean, smooth and easy on the hops. It has a surprising depth of malt with a hint of smoky molasses.

Michigan beer is sold through regional distributors covering the Upper Peninsula, northern Lower Peninsula and southeast Michigan. The brewery also lists distributors in Wisconsin and Minnesota. The site names no stores, so ask the distributor or the taproom which shops carry it.

Aroma
Roasted malt with a little chocolate and smoke.
Appearance
Very dark brown to black with a tan head.
Taste
Smooth roast and chocolate malt, a hint of smoky molasses and only gentle hop bitterness.
Overall
Looks heavy but drinks easy. A good dark beer for newcomers.
